- Castle on River Nore: Kilkenny Castle was raised on the River Nore after the Norman conquest, built to control the crossing and assert occupation over the land. Rebuilt and adapted across nine centuries, the Victorian remodelling that stands today is open to visitors in fifty acres of parkland. The 2026 Annual Ornament is drawn from its towers.
- Fired Through Sixteen Hands: Parian china has a luminosity that no standard ceramic can replicate, the ivory body giving the sculpted form a depth and warmth that comes from the clay itself. Shaped and painted by 16 pairs of hands, measuring 3.5 inches (8.9cm) wide by 2.1 inches (5.3cm) tall. Any piece that fails inspection is destroyed, not sold.
- Embossed Gold Shamrock Detail: Part of Belleek's Annual Ornament collection, made for 2026 only. The castle walls carry embossed stonework detail throughout, with gold trim along the battlements and a gold band across the front. Shamrocks are painted by hand on each tower, with a small green arched doorway cut into the base. Wipe with a damp cloth.
- Christmas Tree Ready: Arrives in a Belleek gift box with a green Belleek ribbon and gold bead attached, ready to hang on the tree the same night it is unwrapped. On that tree, among the ornaments collected over a lifetime, it marks the Christmas of 2026. It is the kind of gift that becomes the one people mention when they describe the tree.
- Limited Edition: Made on the banks of the River Erne in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, the Belleek pottery has produced fine china at the same site since 1857. The backstamp confirms Irish origin and dates each piece to its year of production. The 2026 Kilkenny Castle Ornament is part of a wider Belleek range, produced for this year alone.
